OGRA Raises RLNG Prices in Pakistan today
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant increase in Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices for June 2026. The revised rates show an increase of up to 16.17%, mainly due to expensive spot LNG purchases made after regional supply disruptions and higher import costs. The higher RLNG prices will impact industries, power generation, and commercial consumers that rely on imported natural gas across Pakistan.
RLNG Prices Increase
According to OGRA, Pakistan had to import costly LNG cargoes from the international spot market after supply disruptions affected regular shipments. Temporary shipping constraints and regional tensions increased procurement costs, resulting in higher RLNG prices for June.
SNGPL RLNG Prices
| Category | May 2026 | June 2026 | Increase today |
| Transmission | $15.62/mmBtu | $17.94/mmBtu | 14.85% |
| Distribution | $16.9847/mmBtu | $19.5228/mmBtu | 14.94% |
SSGCL RLNG Prices
| Category | May 2026 | June 2026 | Increase |
| Tasmissuion | $14.093/mmBtu | $16.368/mmBtu | 16.00% |
| Distribution | $16.042/mmBtu | $18.64/mmBtu | 16.17% |
All prices are in US dollars per million British thermal units (mmBtu).
- RLNG prices increased by around 15–16% compared with May 2026.
- June prices are approximately 56% higher than March 2026.
- RLNG rates are nearly 73% higher than February 2026.
- Emergency LNG imports significantly raised the overall supply cost.
What’s Behind the Higher Costs?
Pakistan imported four LNG cargoes during June. Three cargoes arrived under long-term contracts, while one emergency cargo was purchased through the spot market at a much higher price. Distribution losses, port charges, importer margins and transportation costs further increased the final RLNG price charged to consumers.

Who Will Be Affected?
The revised RLNG prices are expected to affect:
- Industrial gas consumers
- Fertilizer manufacturers
- Power generation companies
- Commercial businesses using RLNG
- Electricity generation costs, which could eventually influence power tariffs
Conclusion
OGRA’s latest notification reflects the impact of higher international LNG procurement costs on Pakistan’s energy sector. With RLNG prices increasing by up to 16.17% for June 2026, industries and large gas consumers are likely to face higher operating expenses in the coming weeks unless global LNG prices stabilize.
